hey. Bought another 2001 fiesta zetec s that has had a puma engine installed. The headlights, rear lights and dial light don't work. the hazards and indicators work and brake lights.

another issue is the boot has been made smooth (no key hole ect.) the interior button wont open the boot and the door open symbol is on,the dash?

Anyone got any ideas before stripping the wire loom down

All the circuits you named are traceable, why would you want to “strip out “ the wiring harness?
I would start with the inop headlights and taillights. Do you have functional turn indicators?
Those circuits are pretty straightforward and easy to trace. Remember that ground connections are important.
The smooth boot lid might be missing it’s latch and sensor . You might need to replace the entire latch assembly and re install a lock cylinder or release button whichever it originally came with.
Not having any details regarding the engine swap, I cannot speak to any specific issues that might arise from whatever the installer might have done to the vehicle prior to your purchase of it. I would start at the fuse block and see if there is power to the affected circuits that is making it at least that far. If there is power at the distribution block (fuse) then you know that the issue is between the fuse and the end point.

I never literally meant stripping it out just mean having to strip parts of the car to follow wire ect. but I managed to find the issue regarding the lights chasing the wiring back from the lights to the fuse box. turns out the the wire about a foot away from the fuse box had been damaged (not sure how maybe during the install) so managed to repair it. and everything works. Boot lid is next on my list.

Boot wont open from the button in the car or from the key but i can hear something when pressing the button. so will crawl through the car and open the boot manually and see if the latch is actually working and go from their.

but thanks for your reply its much appreciated
