Replacing Purge Valve

I recently ordered a new purge valve as appropriate for the check light code. The new valve arrived but the inlet and outlet are too large to fit into the hose. They are the same size as the outside diameter of the hose.

I checked with the supplier and they say that they sent me the right part. So I ordered another valve from a different supplier but it is also too large.

How can I get a valve that fits?
