CD drive error and intermittent static

Ford Fiesta 2011 dash shows CD drive error, radio still works but lots of static through the speakers. The static is intermittent and can start without the key being in the ignition and will stop a few seconds after the vehicle is locked. I’ve tried using a CD head cleaner and we’ve also disconnected the battery all with no change. Anyone got any ideas please?
