fiesta mk8 remote locking

3 door, drivers door remote locking unlock okay but the passenger door does not, can hear click by lock when using remote fob. it will lock unlock manually okay. any thoughts thanks

Even pressing the unlock function 2X?

One press unlocks the drivers side - but two presses should unlock all

Then double check when you're in the car, when the engine runs, when you open the Drivers side door, can someone, from the outside; open the passenger side door? Then try with Engine off; by, on a separate attempt (Restart close all doors drive until auto-lock engages then re-park back at the spot) turn off the engine, stay seated - but open the drivers side door, and see if auto-unlock for the passenger side occurs.

If not you'll have to dig around in the owners manual and find the spot for Child Safety and restraints - this sounds like a sensor in the passenger seat is either activating or not sending the proper (un)occupied signal to allow all the passengers to exit immediately. There is also a programmed feature to unlock all the doors from the keyfob - that is set to memory when all the doors are unlocked and you press both lock and unlock together and hold until horn sounds/marker lights flash or both - then try and see if the unlock for both sides occurs on the unlock single press works.

thank you for reply, my problem is the front passenger door will not lock by remote or the inside lock button. if you put the passive key in the door lock that will lock it. the remote works okay on drivers door and boot thankyou for your help.

OK! That means the door panel has to come off and you'll have to locate the lock mechanism and check to see if it's cable is still functioning, as in it's not kinked in the door or rusted frozen in place forcing you to move the lock on the handle which frees the latch so you can open it.. There are (possibly) two cables that work the same door latch, one from the door handle then the door latch inside on the panel which is supposed to have a physical means to do this on earlier models - not sure on latter models.

Since the two work together, if one - the door panel one, is too worn, it can affect the ability to make the door latch lock or unlock. This is due to how those two cables work - if one has too much play - it can cause the door to stay locked even when you're inside because the solenoid that throws the lock, has too much slack from the other cables "grommet and guide assembly" affecting tit's ability to push or pull the lock mechanism.

So you'll need to take the door panel off - there are several You-Tube vids on how to do that but yours is MK8 while USA were lucky to have gotten as far as MK7 - so you're in rare territory.
