I think that the drive experience with the DPS6 in the fiesta is far better than what i experienced in any Nissan cvt vehicle.

At last count, I've driven over 10 Ford Escorts which were stick (>650k total miles, I changed zero clutches, I'm decent on a stick). I had at least 2 more Escorts which were automatics. 3 of my 5 trucks were stick. Yeah, I understand stick.
My driving habits are to avoid S mode completely, but the few times I used it, I understood what was happening and went back to D. Anyways, the 2 funky tranny shift events were over 8 months ago. Thanks, econoboxrocks, for the clarification regarding the lack of a torque converter, was wondering about that. FWIW, my prior car was an '08 Sentra with the early ECVT. It went 175k, then got totalled, so that, too is familiar territory. Took 2+ years for me to adapt to the Sentra ECVT, but I learned to like it (2700RPM was anywhere from 40 to 65 MPH).
Good input, thanks all!
I really like the S mode for getting on freeways and canyon runs, speed abatement on the downhill, or when I see the need to pass on a two-lane. Gives me control of when shit happens. Would I rather have a stick...yes...but I don't right now. Next car will be an ST.

Hello! My name is Mike. I live in Florida and have a 2015 Ford Fiesta SE. I am here for cool tricks and tips you can do with your car. I used to be a member of Two car clubs in 2003: The National Pontiac Grand Prix club and a local custom car club named "Positive Force" so I have many years and memories of car enthusiasm. I hope to have great conservations with you all. Take care. Mike G

Welcome! This forum isn't super-active, but there are some really friendly and knowledgeable people here. You can poke around and see what people have done with their rides. The Fiesta is a solid little econobox. They handle well and other than the bad rep it got from the auto trans, they're reliable and inexpensive.

There isn't anything you can do that will increase the power significantly on the base 1.6. You can make it handle better with tires and suspension, etc. There are lots of things you can do to personalize it and make it more fun for you. One easy upgrade is the interior lights. https://www.fiestastforum.com/threads/diy-interior-bulb-replacement-upgrade-install-pics.14768/

I did it, and I really liked the results.

Welcome to the forum, Mike. Are /were you involved in the vintage British sports car hobby? That looks like an MG TD in your avatar.
If so, you will find the Fiesta has at least a few less "quirks" than the LBC! As Econoboxrocks said, there are performance limitations imposed on the Basic Fiesta. But, lots of other things that are upgradable from stock if an owner wants to personalize some aspect of their car. Look around and see what interests you.

Welcome, mgriffith1979! I also have a 2015 SE (74k miles). Love it. Fun to drive. 42-44 mpg on the freeway. Check out my build (in the signature) and also I would check out the ST forum for lots of non-performance ideas. I especially like the What did you do to your Fiesta ST today ? thread. I ran through all of that thread when I got my car about 15 months ago; it has great ideas and fun. Great much of folks there as well as my Fiesta friends here. Happy Thanksgiving! How about a picture or two?

Hello. Happy Thanksgiving to you. I have loved my Fiesta, especially the gas saving and it's maneuverability in tight spots. It is funny when I park next to a Mazda Miata, my car looks like a tank in comparison to that. Here are some stock pics of my car. I have yet to fix it up really, due to one or another. Later

Hello. Well, I just added the Pic of the 1937 Jaguar Roadster to my avatar because i had none of my personal car, he he. That roadster belonged to a man that my father in law done work for. I am finding out from others there is not much upgrades performance wise to our cars. I guess unless you are a self proclaimed modifier that makes your own parts. Well good to meet you and Happy Thanksgiving to you.

The only Fiesta that lends itself to power upgrades is the ST. There are tons of mods and tuners, which is kinda surprising for such a low-volume car. With a bigger turbo and a few supporting mods, they easily make 300+ hp. I was more conservative, and told my tuner I wanted reliability over maximum power. He made sure it didn't push the capacity of the turbo real hard, and with some intake mods and a tune, I'm making 210 hp and 276 tq at the wheels. I don't feel any need for more, and the engine isn't overstressed at all. It's my only car now, and I like that it's good at passing on the freeway when I need it. That much power in a car this light is really a lot of fun, and I still average around 30 mpg, which isn't bad for that kind of performance. I plan to keep it until gasoline is phased out or I die, whichever comes first.

The Fiesta is still a very popular car in Europe and Asia. Small cars just aren't popular here, which is a shame. I never liked big cars, and SUVs are so boring to me.

Also, happy Thanksgiving to everyone!

Greetings Everyone! My wife and I are proud owners of 2 Ford Vehicles. 2012 Ford F-250 and the 2014 Ford Fiesta SE, which is why I am here. I absolutely love our Fiesta, and she is pushing over 109K miles and still going. She in need of a new turbocharger, which I have hopefully started a thread in the correct area, if not just tell me and I will repost :) I'm hoping to learn a lot about the fiesta, in my hopes of keeping her going even longer!! Looking forward to meeting other Fiesta owners!!

Hey, my name is Gary from Pennsylvania. I just acquired a 2012 fiesta SE sedan.. come from the world and forums of Focus SVT's but as my family grew the SVT needed to go.. Recently decided we needed a getaround, gas sipper, buggy and stumbled onto the Fiesta. Would love any advice, pointers, etc.. ideas to make it visually better, or have a little more pep... anyway.. can't wait to look around.

Welcome! It's a good little car. They'll go a long time with regular maintenance. There aren't any ways to really make it faster with the base engine. There are lots of little things you can do to make it more enjoyable, though. Have a look around, and I'm sure you'll see lots of interesting ideas.
