Thanks but that's for the ST's 6 speed manual transmission. The SE has a 5 speed iB/5 manual transmission. Has entirely different seal.

The seal I was seeing in the YT-vid.

You asked "How to" remove the seal - Its showing the "poke and pry" method and its for those seals that may or may not have a metal ring to back them and pack the seal onto the housing and bind it to it.

Can you post a photo or perhaps a FoMoCo number?

What are you up against?

The one shown is a METAL backed seal - used for ST to stiffen the seal but another one has the similar size and depth...

I see another one...

Grab your seal if it's been taken out - and look for a spring "ring" used to flex-seal the lip on the input shaft...

Due to the nature of the seal - a simple poke and hook can also work, but due to the spring - it leaves a variable in it - the spring in the seal itself can fail during the removal and get left in the bearing rollers or during the process the rollers or it's Race can get scarred.

I will be installing YS4Z-7048-AA in the used transmission. See pictures. Has no spring. The flat side is installed toward the inside of the iB/5 transmission and the other side faces out as installed on both the original and used transmissions.

I ordered 2 seals one for the used transmission and the other for my original transmission. The info stamped on the flat side of the seals is:

CN1Z-7048-A maid in Brazil FORD 437A 96WT-7048-A9A BRUSS 11 >FE/ACM< AS 21,5X48X8,4 RF Ford specs this one for my 2013
YS4Z-7048-AA maid in Spain FORD F437A 96WT-7048-A9A BRUSS 15 >FE/ACM< AS 21,5X48X8,4 RF Ford specs this one for the used 2011 transmission.

They both appear to be dimensionnaly the same.

I just discovered that during assembly the seal is inserted from inside the case.

The YT vid shows the ST 6 speed transmission and shows the flat side out.
