Radio stays on when engine is turned off?

I have a strange problem with my 2014 Fiesta SE. Occasionally when I turn the ignition off, the radio continues to play and nothing can be adjusted on it. You can't turn it off by hitting the on/off button, can't change station or adjust volume. My local Ford dealer suggested disconnecting the positive battery cable for a few seconds and then re-installing it to get the radio to re-set. This works. However, the problem continues and I do not know the cause or the solution. Any ideas?

Unfortunately I have not. The first couple of times this happened, it was in the winter when the outside temperature was really low. Then, it happened this summer, so temperature apparently is not a factor. If you discover anything, please share. Thanks for responding to my thread!

It'll continue playing for about 30 minutes and should shut off by itself.

My radio has played for over an hour when I have disconnected the battery. I have never tried to see how long it will play on its own. Guess I am afraid that it will eventually drain the battery.

When my Ford dealer replaced the battery, the radio or CD player would blast even when the car was turned off. Sometimes, it was intermittent static so loud it was deafening. It cost me another $800.00 to get the radio fixed. Is it true, if they leave the radio and other things on when they change the battery, this can cause the electrical system to go haywire?

I know my first post is reviving an antique thread, but the problem described is exactly out problem. My wifes Fiesta has a radio that, on occasion, will just stay on no matter what. Can't turn it off or change channels. The only cure I have found is removing the battery cable for a couple minutes.
Was a [permanent solution to this ever found?

So, If you need to replace the radio unit, can you substitute a similar part number?

This simply could be you have to "Re-boot" when you have powered it up.

Ok, just - turn key to ON, or Press Start to lite up the dash but no starting or running

With Radio on, press it's power button - then press it again...

Under Dashboard, behind Glovebox, locate the RADIO/SYNC fuse (mine in that little box is F10 - Audio Head Unit) Pull It - should quiet the Radio - but verify you get a "boot" screen (FORD AUDIO SYSTEM) and then nothing - by pressing the power button - then press it again after the FORD boot disappears.
Then re-insert Fuse - and double check the Power Button Works.

If this clears it, check to make sure all your BT devices are current and you don't have any duplicate names in your BT menu on the Smartphone - because it (SYNC) cannot resolve BT - devices with similar names but different MAC address during the handshake - something about a "Timeout" because it sees a name, but not te correct address to resolve and connect to,

I had this happen to me on several occasions when I transfer from one vehicle to another and the prior user didn't clear out the phone in memory on the car - but your smartphone is what is causing the contention - only needs to happen once and will lockout the radio until power is removed and reapplied to clear the condition - like a poorly managed error-trapping system needs a little TLC to help it along.
