Engine Malfunction Service Now 1.0L Ecoboost

Hello,

I drive a 2014 Ford Fiesta 1.0L T and i’ve been having this issue for a while. When I’m not on the accelerator, every 20ish minutes of driving the ‘Engine Malfunction Service Now’ displays on the centre screen.

The car goes into some sort of limp mode where the turbo builds no boost and the throttle seems to only open up halfway. It’s very sluggish.

As soon as I restart the car the message disappears and the car drives as normal?

I would be checking the condition of your intake hoses and also the tightness of the attachment clamps. You aren’t giving us much background information about when it was last serviced. So, the issue could have an electrical root cause if a sensor is damaged or fouled.
