Hi All,
Could anyone advise me on how to get the bonnet to lift, it's a 2009 model. It's opened to reveal the lever, but it's totally solid. The cable now longer seems to play any further part. I can see what seems to be 2 x 10 mm bolts through the gap. If i removed these bolts would it allow the catch to lift with the bonnet?
I need to lift it as the oil warning light has come on.
Thanks in advance for any help in this matter,

Handy Andy

This may seem counterintuitive, but the catch is possibly stuck with the opening pressure - so the latch can't budge further.

Have you tried pressing down on the hood to release the tension on the catch to see if the sprung hinges can then give enough so you can release that catch from the pawl?

I say sprung because if it has not been opened in a while and some impact or bump has deformed the front nose to the hood aspect - the hood is possibly caught in the latch itself as the pressure from popping the bonnets hood release then let the tension release and as it released that built up pressure it sprung the hood forward, and the front nose didn't rebound - so the latch is "stuck" under the hood (bonnet)

Thanks for reply Andy. I have read somewhere about pressing down, but i was worried about it completely closing and leaving it in a worse position than before. I may just place a packing piece under it to stop this from happening, then try pressing down
My thinking is, that i can still see these two bolts that may release the complete catch unit.
