- 2012 Ford Fiesta 1.6l NA Manual
2012 ford fiesta 1.6l NA Manual
Only fault code is P0627
Engine stalls/dies only when going 40-60 mph, low RPM, little or moderate throttle input
Fuel pressure PID is not available on forscan for this vehicle, not sure why
Followed service manual pinpoint test, all tests returned satisfactory results. Given I did the tests at standstill, I later backprobed the fuel pump driver modulewhile driving. 10.5-13.5v on FPPWR & FPRTN during stall (one of the steps on the diag tree for P0627)
PCV valve replaced as part of diag, needed to be done but did not fix issue.
"FP_DUTY" Shows constant 59.21%, increases to over 70% during stall
"FP_STAT" PID on forscan shows "Short/Open EFPR Output to FP" and/or "Invalid FPM Signal" during stall
STFT jumps during stall, obviously lean stall
Stalling is either correlated or coincidentally happening when purge valve opens 70% or more. If I floor it as the purge commanded approaches 70%, it drops to 0% and won't stall. If the purge gets over 70%, it will increase to 90% and next time I press the gas pedal it will stall, and purge will drop to 0%
I unplugged the purge valve, the car did not stall for the remaining 20 minute drive
Bench tested purge valve, all seems fine
Questions: any idea why I can't see fuel rail pressure on forscan?
Any ideas why FP_DUTY is stuck at 51.29%? Shouldn't it be 5-50% and variable?
I can't find anything on the FP_STAT PID. Only one active faultcode
What commands the purge valve to open or close? It seems the purge valve is choking out engine but it doesn't command itself. Also, that doesn't explain the seemingly electrical issues with the fuel pump
