South or Southwest?

I live in Texas. If you live in Houston or the Golden Triangle, that's Southern. If you live in Austin, San Antonio or parts west that's Southwest. What does this forum consider Southwest?

I think the reference is geographical. That would mean New Mexico, Arizona and parts of Texas and California. Some people have included parts of Utah and Colorado in that description. So it isn’t a reference to a specific state, more of a description of a region that has a specific desert climate.
