I have a 2011 Fiesta SE hatchback. The engine cooling fan motor burnt up and fried the plug that plugs into it. My nephew and I installed a new engine fan and had to hard wire it in. After doing so, my heater blower fan only works when it wants to. I replaced the blower motor resistor and that did not fix the problem. im assuming that the blower fan isn't bad or it would not come on at all. Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance

Works when it wants to?

Might need a new controller - but that depends on the type of climate control system you use. Manual or an Automatic?

Manual may have a simpler design but the Automatic ones use a lot more wires and are harder to fix due to so many sensors and the way it has it's fingers everywhere in the system.

When the blower comes on, that is a good sign but how or why is that affected by the Engine cooling fan? They're on separate circuits - you mentioned hard wired, so we can only guess...

It is a 5spd manual.
When the original engine cooling fan burnt up it took the plug with it. I got an aftermarket plug that was OEM compatible, but the new aftermarket fan that I got had a different style plug. So we cut the two plugs off and spliced the new fan to the non burt wires for the cooling fan. The cooling fan works as it should.
