instead of me digging through all these post and maybe finding what i need. ill just ask so excuse me for being lazy. am still going to look. i am hoping someone will be kind enough to help me out. this is my daughters car as well. so i just want to make it a little nicer and i got a great deal on this equipment.
2018 fiesta SE hatchback
i want to keep the stock head unit 4.2 standard/basic non touch screen. not going to keep the car that long. the dsp, amp and sub will be coming out. so that is why not replacing the HU. plus its just ridiculous expensive to replace in this car. i know the equipment am putting in it is expensive but i got one hell of a business moving sale.

goldhorn dspa 1012 plus
rainbow 2 way component set
cdt audio es-03 midrange in a speaker pod with the tweeter from the rainbow set
rainbow 6.5 coaxial rearfil
mosconi pro 1/10
10" custom SQ sub 600 rms watts and a 1.12 cu ft sealed box.

the doors all have 70mil harmony cld in them as well as 1" melamine foam (hydrophobic)
rears have the same cld treatment and foam, as well as the coaxials already installed.

the mids and tweeter will need new wires run under the dash to the dsp.

this is where my experience falls short. how do i connect the dsp to the HU?
how do i get a clean flat signal from the HU?
can i or should i disable the built in amp?

i know i need a t-harness to connect into the oem harness and back of the radio.
that is it.

any help 1000023591.jpg

The Head unit - uses SYNC to store the built in settings like FADE, Balance, MID, TREBLE, and BASS - along with most of the BT and AUX/USB Dongle info. So that may be part of the issue you'll need a workaround on - how to handle the EQ-side let alone find a suitable "Line-Level" input like you'd find in a tape monitor loop. The Aux jack is for input - not output - so all the wiring of the driving effort the DSP you have will need to be patched in by harness and wye-taps to even grab signals and let the OEM HU play thru. However, because of the FORD OEM HU limitations - you're better off going the route of individual component and you're dash simply does not have the room for it.

Since SYNC pretty much handles all the controller info - you may just want to trash that SYNC and HU and just install a Dual DIN radio or Single DIN Radio and separate piggybacked CD player with USB and BT capability.

Why? Mostly due to the "resolution" of the SYNC side of the BT-signal processing that goes on in there - it's 128kBit - you're losing much of the HD capability ANY simple audio amplifier in even older Analog stereo systems can easily handle with less watts and far more range or depth of imaging the Fiestas' Audio HU unit can presently supply. The only thing going for it is the Amp noise floor is set up to reduce the ground loop noises that affect AM and FM signal reception (which is why it lacks depth and features) - but little else.

In a previous post I've done, I have tried reviewing options about replacements and upgrades - they require high levels of rework many typical owners do not care for and are not comfortable with. It's the SYNC integration part that makes this a mess. If the Fiesta simply stayed with the simpler FORD Audio system Audio-Head - we'd all be better off and many Kenwood, Toshiba, Pioneer and other Audio-phile aftermarkets' suppliers and their Storefronts would still be in business.

You have my interest, but I've had to give up pursuing the effort of making it more likeable to my interests - because so much of the rest of the world has moved on it's hard to fight back and return to the older days of simpler times - your grandfathered-to-you unit, proves this.

a new age is starting. goldhorn audio is the first leading the way with audio integration. this is a company that is out of china. they are huge in Asia, Russia and Ukraine. they already have several DSPa systems are are pretty much plug and play with the new cars.Rainbow audio is doing the same in a more limited capacity. helix has been making noise that they will as well. there are a few other lesser know DSP companies play with the idea. the tuning is more advanced than anything that was started in the 80's of plain amps and speakers. my dsp for this fiesta is a pretty high level goldhorn but not the close to what i have in my f150.

now i know there is a way past all this bs that ford has put in. i even know how to get there. i just don't have the ACM codes to flat line the EQ. kill the bass roll off and give me a clean signal. i can go the short route and use a LOC but that does not kill the EQ or the bass roll off. i have to hope that my dsp can make the adj. and keep the noise floor to a minimum. why would i want to deal with noise when the goldhorn has one of the lowest noise floors of any dsp. i could just log into the ACM get the build code and try different codes one by one until i find what i'm looking for. if this car had been a ST model of a focus i would of all ready had my answer.

there is always a way around anything a person builds and says there is not work around. there is always a work around.

Never said it could not be done, just won't in my own car. Funny - the only thing that really works is the Radio in a relative sense - everything else fails or has failed in one form or another right off the lot, and I've been dealing with those problems since. So I'm keeping it simpler for now - it works so I'm not fixing it.

Wish you the best! Keep us posted on this.
