2011 fiesta transmission problems

Hey guys I have a 2011 Ford fiesta with a ib5 manual transmission. The transmission started making a grinding noise. I decided to drop the transmission. I have gotten to the 5th gear and noticed that the gear has pitting and looks rough to me ( not sure how rough is normal). I was wondering before I go and buy tools to take that 5th gear off would I be better off buying a replacement transmission, replace the gears, or scrap the car( it’s not worth more than 1000 bucks fixed) ? I believe that the input shaft bear is what the grinding noise was. But now I’m thinking I’m gonna find a lot more problems. Any advice and guidance on what path I should take would be helpful thanks.
