***NEW UPDATE ON LAST POST. 1/10/2023

Hey all,

Just wanted to make my own thread to track the progress of the changes made to my 2019 Ford Fiesta S.

My plans so far:

-Window Tints
-Wheels
-Mud Guards
-Front Lip
-Plasti dip front grille
-Front plate mount

Possibly in the future:

-Exhaust
-Intake
-Lowering Springs
-New LED Tail-lights / Headlights
-LED / Heated Mirrors

My window tints are scheduled for this coming Monday, $199 for carbon tints on back sides + 1/4 panes.
I will post a picture once it's complete.

Window tints installed. They look great! just did 25% all around. I regret not getting the front window done though, 50% or maybe just one of those sun strips.
$212 with tax for carbon tints, not too shabby. Crazy how something as simple as tinting your windows can elevate the look of a vehicle!

Next on the agenda is probably going to be RallyArmor mud flaps. My brother in law works at an auto racing parts store so gonna ask if he can get them, and if so if he can get a discount! Crossing my fingers.

Another update. This isn't really a MOD per say, but I ended up getting a phone mount. This this is pretty sweet and is exactly what I was looking for. The suction part seems to be high quality and very secure. It even came with a little support piece to keep it from vibrating so much. Not a bad investment. I also picked up some little LED light strips that I'm going to mount in the foot well areas of the vehicle, Blizzak snow tires put on 195/60r15 (can only afford to do 2 at a time, so rear 2 first.), these little blue pvc things that you cut to length and put over your heater vents, a winter window cover that came with mirror covers, a trim clip removal kit, and new dome / backup LED lights. Lots of fun little stuff for the new whip! I'm probably gonna look at getting mud flaps next, once the second set of winter tires are on.

I got these LED strips installed in the front footwells, and under the seats. They really look good. The photo does not do it justice. They also come with a app for your phone and you have full control over color and brightness. Not bad for a little $14 kit. Got all the wires tucked away as well. I also installed bright white LED's for my dome. I need to add a photo of that. It really looks great and makes it so much easier to see the interior at night.

I wanted to install the brake light but I was seriously struggling with removing the tail-lamp from the trunk. I got the trunk liner clips out, and removed it to access the tail light housing. I then unscrewed the little connector that keeps the tail-light in place, but noticed there was something else keeping it attached (like a small white clip or something.) and didn't want to just rip it out. I'll have to do more research on how to remove it so I can access the bulbs as I have a bright LED that I want to put in for the reverse light.
(sorry for the low quality GIF. This forum doesn't really let you upload anything of size.)

Weather-Tech floormats arrived. They fit perfectly. Molded to each side driver / passenger. And they look nice. They just made these like a month or two ago for my year / model.
PS don't mind my dirty floor.

It's with a heavy heart, minor concussion, and whiplash that I regretfully inform you that project baby beluga is most likely delayed indefinitely. I was side swiped today on the east side of Milwaukee by a careless driver who either ran a stop sign or failed to properly yield to me. Either way their at fault.

This sucks. And I had an Uber passenger in the car at the time. He was on the side that was hit and is banged up.

Thankfully all are alive and walked away.

I assume it's totalled. Will find out once it gets evaluated.

Not sure if I'll get another fiesta or not .to.bd determined. I've been ubering a lot lately so may opt for something larger.

Side note. Thank God for side impact airbags. I feel like my head would have gone through the window otherwise.

I'll let you guys know what happens.

That one is done. You should get the upgrades you have done and the Blizzaks off of it. Then you can just transfer them onto your next Fiesta! Keep us posted!

I live in constant dread that some careless driver is going to destroy my lovely little car that I worked so hard to get and personalize.
Yeah this really does suck, and the timing for me could not be worse. I am between jobs and was doing uberx to earn money till I find something else. So now my only source of income has been taken away, and my ability to efficnetly look for jobs. I have to uber or get rides to interviews. It's terrible. Luckily I should be getting some type of settlement out of this. Minor injuries, lost wages, and vehicle. (I owe more than the cars worth too probably, thank god for GAP coverage.)

But I hope none of you ever have to experience this. This is the second car now that has been T-BONED that I loved. First was a 2001 Civic EX sport from Arizona SUPER CLEAN.

Still waiting to hear from the adjuster on whether or not it will be totaled. But just eyeballing it looks to be about 4-5k worth of work. In that case it would probably be totaled. And if they dont I will mention wanting to go after diminished value, in which case they would probably total it to. If they do, I will try to grab the wheels off it. Those Blizzaks only have like 3k miles.

Too late for me...

Had this happen several times in my life - you get through it.

Take your time.

Now you will soon understand why you have the anger when it happens and the joy and passion for being mobile - makes you have a better understanding of why you have to take care of yourself - these "others" aren't. They will just "Borrow" someone else's until that one gets totaled or unable to run because they can't keep up the maintenance.

IT may not sound like good advice, in truth there never is any good advice in matters like this. You simply were in the wrong spot at the right time. The law, whatever that means nowadays, is more on your side than theirs. You didn't hit them, they hit you.

I see this stuff everyday - makes your bow your head and wonder.

I noticed something - and I thank you for documenting this accident...

Wanted to point out something VERY important.

The vehicle that hit you is a Subaru - later model, using collision avoidance technology.

Here... look carefully - the rest of you can review the photo this came from at your leisure - but you can plainly see the technology...
1673912986704.png

The arrows point to sensors used in the technology - they are like cameras - and at the least notify the driver (buzzing the wheel - ding dong sounds as alarms) that objects are being sensed in it's field of view. They operate a lot like parallax and motion sensors - they use a test pattern at auto shops to test and validate the system - used for certification of and for specific reasons and purposes.

When the system is fully functional - the driver is fully protected from collision - they can sit there looking down at their phone and keep the pedal floored, the system takes over and simply comes to a stop whether they wanted it to or not.

I'd like to know the reason why a Subaru gets totaled - when it uses such a system.

This accident could have been avoided - I strongly urge you to find an attorney and protect you and your investments from further harm - right now as it stands - ignorance will let them win. I suggest you do not let that happen.

I did not even notice that and I am super thankful and glad that you pointed that out to me as it will be able to be used against them in the claim. This is all new to me and I'm not even sure where to go from here, I plan to reach out to Allstate tomorrow and will provide updates.

So some interesting facts about the Subaru that hit me:

-The driver claims they stopped at the stop sign, but the damage to my vehicle and the force of the impact made it feel like she was accelerating and not trying to stop. (maybe 25 feet from stop sign to impact)
-There were also no solid tire marks from her trying to brake hard.
-Her steering wheel airbag failed to / did not deploy.
-She seemed "loopy" and out of it. (mentioned something about needing sodium.)

Andy I think I may peruse and attorney I'm not sure. I will hear out the insurance company and go from there. On the police report she literally admits fault so liability is not the issue for me.

this picture is accurate but where we ended up was about 15 feet further to the east from where my car (car 2) is in the diagram. That's the force we were hit with. I was traveling 30MPH ish and came to a dead stop on impact.

As for now, let's leave this to rest, it is better now that what we know is in the open for review, but I think it is best we let this stand until the claim adjusters and the insurance companies work their realm of being the diplomats and settle this claim.

Futher diagnosis may interfere with this ongoing claim.

You can PM as needed - enough information has been disclosed.

Well, Judge me if you will boys. But the decision has been made.
I needed something bigger, I'm sorry.
I did love the fiesta while I had it, and will forever be fond of it, I'll also miss this community as well.
On that note, I do have a set of Weathertech floor liners if someone is interested for the 2019 fiesta s manual.

Understandable. I hope you collected a fair sum for the Fiesta, and I hope you have safer travels with your new car.

The Taurus is a fine car. Not as nimble of course, but it looks great and has plenty of pep with the V6. I know you'll take care of it.
