Brake light bulb

The bulb list on the UK site ford owners club shows a listing of bulbs. The list says that you need a #380 double contact bulb

If a box had that 380 double contact i could use it? Saw some today said suitable for most cars

"Most cars" are not your car. You can go to any auto parts store and ask them to look up the right bulb. They will probably have it.

Went and looked up your year, found out some interesting stuff.

We in the USA have a similar bulb style - your 380 is our 1157.

Both are twin contact (so it has a hi and low brightness) 5W low - 21W high

And a Bayonet base

And it has an index - the bayonet base has two flanges or tabs, both are at a different height from the bottom of the base - so it only goes in one way to make sure the correct filament is lit on the right contact wire - you don't want brake on when you only need simple taillight and marker.

Thought I post this in case someone comes along later and needs this to help them "translate".
