Hello everyone,
https://www.fordfiesta.org/threads/fresh-engine-oil-in-air-intake.9295/post-25975
That thread above is exactly everything that I have been going through in the last 2 weeks. That thread has a wealth of information.
The first thing I did was check the hose from the valve area to the air filter box and clean up a bunch of oil.
After cleaning it out I ran the car and there is air moving from the valve area to the box.
then I checked the spark plugs. first of all 2 were not even hand-tight. The car ha 113K miles I did the spark plugs at 100K here are the pics. They are NGK Ruthminium
I need to get to work for the moment, how can I clean these plugs up? I am going to order the Dbl Plat. Autolite or Motorcraft. Gut do any of these look abnormal?
I found the PCV but seriously, how the heck do you get it out?
Then I read further into the thread about a bad cat. my last real-time test showed a cat temp at 1667 degrees F
Is it me or does the entire exhaust look like it has been way overheated?
I'll clean up the plugs a little, re-gap them, and tighten them a little better this time. I need to get a torque wrench.
Anyway, thanks for linking me to that thread, I am going to run through each item on that thread. and eliminate all the issues.
"once you have eliminated the probable, then
I swear I thought I was the only Fiesta owner on the planet with this problem.
