Carplay - Retro install question

HI-
I recently installed an aftermarket Carplay unit.
Works great except for two minor issues.

1. The fan / heater controls that are part of the Carplay unit don't work?
2. The original Fiesta's stereo power on / volume button doesn't work now.

Is this normal or should these things work?

This unit is a stand-alone meaning it can control the unit by itself.

So that means if you wanted the Fan Speed controls and the Power On/Off button and it's turning to control the volume, that means you'll have to contact the customer service department of that maker of the unit to find more information.

Might be a hassle; for you may need to purchase an interface module and it would possibly be a support bundle that lets the Wireless and BT-enabled device in it and it's ability - to operate those controls directly - else the Ford unit has those controls and wiring - this would not have that support - it will take a phone call to find that bundle if they are still made.
