Good Afternoon All.

I seem to have a problem with my 2022 Ford Ecosport Radio.

This weekend past we installed the following;
1. Line Converter (Targa Audio High to Low Converter - Autostyle Motorsport South Africa )
2. 6 Guage Wiring Kit (Powerbass 6gauge Car Audio Installation Wiring Kit - Autostyle Motorsport South Africa)
3. Alpine 6.5" Front Door Speakers (Alpine SPG-17C2 6.5" 2way Speakers - Autostyle Motorsport South Africa)
4. Alpine 5x7" Backboard Speakes (Alpine SXE-572S 5x7" Speakers - Autostyle Motorsport South Africa )
5. Targa Amp (Targa TG-SK6100.4 Street King 6100W 4 Channel Amplifier - My Audio & Security (myaudioandsecurity.co.za))

The new speakers are running off the amp. The front door speaker wires are connected to the Line Converter.
Amp is switched on and off automatically with the line converter.

The problem i am now facing is the radio plays sound perfect through the amp as well as my bluetooth music, the problem is that phone calls are no longer being played through the car speaks nor is the person on the other side hearing me when i speak.

Does anyone know of this problem?

Thank You In Advance Guys

Handy Andy

IF you installed the line converter back at the radio for the amp, then recheck ALL the connections.

I posted something in another thread to get you started.

The upper console uses a mini speaker and an Electret mic element to listen for audio when you are calling - the BT system uses the EXTERNAL mic and radio to communicate the audio - but doesn't use the Phones built in mic - so the Audio system needs to use the upper speaker console by the interior light to help "listen" and communicate thru a separate channel to the speaker for 2-Way BT. using the Audio/Sync system to process this.

IF that Electret gets power from the wire harness - then the mic is "dead" and can't listen - because of the line converter blocking the power feed to it - not audio - but the DC power.

So, if you have worked on the Amp to install it thru the speaker wires, then you have to recheck your wiring work and make sure the wires to the upper console are connected directly to the Audio / Sync unit the vehicle came with. Else the loop isolator does the job of removing any form of ground or power loops - so the coupling circuit passes audio - but not power - and this may be where your problem lies.

Thanks Andy, what you said makes a ot of sense. I figured out the problem this weekend and discovered that the BT voice call system works off the front speakers only. I mistakenly connected the line converter to the rear channels on the deck and nothing was connected to the front channels on the deck.

Once I put the line converter onto the front channels of the deck and tested it with a phone call everything worked again - I could hear the other person on my sound system as well as the other person was able to hear me speak aswell.

Thanks For The Help.
