Glad you're alright and hope replacing wiper blades doesn't put you in traction at the local hospital - wish you the best and glad to know your car is doing better, and with wishes and prayers - you will be doing better soon too.

I'm good, probably a little hyperbolic the other day regarding my back. Did a few PT exercises and I just had lingering muscle soreness instead of intense spasms as has happened in the past.
Anyway, the car is running really well so it's all good. Thanks all for your help and advice.

Suspension and all that went well earlier in the year. Passed inspection and emissions.
So the new thing is that the engine is giving me a P0420 code. My research here as well as on the rest of the internets shows this is my catalytic converter losing efficiency. I'm going to switch my station where I fuel up next time, as I'm not sure what's going into the tank out in west Philly where I usually get gas. Granted, I'm taking it all on faith. I've always put in premium (yes it may be a waste) and here in PA it's usually Sunoco. I know I can get pure non-ethanol aviation gasoline out near Gettysburg, but that's a long drive. It's a nice drive though and could clear out that cat maybe. I have a theory that the ethanol level was raised recently across the range of fuel and this happened right after I filled up with a new tank of fuel. Maybe that's coincidence. Another coincidence is the fuel mileage went down by 6-8mpg at the same time. Granted, it got REALLY hot, so I've been running the AC and expected a decrease, but this is not like the prior summers. Lately, on my in-the-city commute plus errand driving, I'm getting ~17mpg. I really hope it's not the cat. I owe as much money on this car as replacing the cat would cost. (at least, that's what I think, may be hyperbolic again).
So I've got some work cut out for me before I start replacing stuff. I'll check my plugs, do an oil change, EGR, check all my vacuum hoses, try to check for exhaust leaks.
Am I missing anything?
Thanks all,
Phil
